I haven't been updating dA much because my new school term started and I got a new part-time job so I've been @_@ most of the time after work.

Okay, I'm probably the last one to update on WCS finals.
It's been a very rushed two weeks since then and I've been busy packing up my seriously messed room and cleaning up almost everyday T_T
Then there was also TGX, but that wasn't much of a rush~ so yeah 8D I finally got some time to edit some photos. @_@

WCS Finals, HM how should I go about starting? 8)
In the first place, after the Korea round I didn't really have much confidence in getting into the next round so I didn't really think much of what to be doing in the finals.
After Starfest, it was a serious mad rush.
For Blind Justice, and me intended to finish it for Korea, but we had to give it up  a week before Korea because of time constraint and we knew it wouldn't look good if we rushed.
So we reverted back to Cantarella and bling-ed it up alot 'A'
We mean like $100++ of crystals each pasted and sewn onto the costumes till we practically glittered on stage @_@

So after starfest, I figured that Blind Justice itself wasn't going to be enough impact for the final round so I insisted that we rush out Ristaccia to go along.
It was really hard on 's side because Nox's costume wasn't easy to draft at all and we were really short on time >_<
Btw rant: RISTACCIA COSTUMES ARE SUCHA BITCH TO MAKE ESP WHEN THE ARTBOOK IS OUT OF PRINT.FFFFFFFFF

also had ALOT of FMLs. I REALLY MEAN ALOT OF FMLs.
I think I'll leave it to her to explain in her own journal, but it included an episode of retrieving costumes that were chucked down the rubbish chute by her mum at 5am in the morning.

So 2 weeks before Cosfest was the start of the real rush, and both of didn't sleep until at least 5am everyday. @_@;
The LED lights were only decided to be added on a week before the performance, and really I have to thank Yoshi, although he lurks the cosplay scene alot 8D (FASTER FINISH YOUR MONSTER HUNTER!).
He was really a big help in the LED lights and even rushed down 3am on the day itself to help out because the cables for the lights were too short.

I also have to extend my thanks to for helping out with alot of Saikanging during the period we rushed for WCS T_T
Daikon for fetching us around to and fro m(>_<)m and Snowie for helping me sew buttons on the night itself! LOL

Afterthoughts:
I really didn't have much impressions of Cosplay performances before I joined WCS.
I admit, the sole reason I joined in the first place was for Korea and I didn't plan far for it.
After joining WCS, it's really changed my view of performing on stage and it's become somewhat addictive.
I do look forward to joining future competitions, or even just performances!

It was really a awesome adventure throughout these 5 months, and I was glad to go through it with the rest of the wcs people! *V-SIGN FLIP HAIR! /!!!!* LOLLLL 8DDDDD

And, whether I decide to join WCS again next year.
If I feel that I'm financially stable and have the free time to put on a good show, I'll want to try for it again!
However, I have alot of travel plans next year >_<; Mainly to Japan during May and Korea+Japan in Dec! 8)
I'm sorry but I want the most awesome locations for my cosplay photos and once you taste a japanese cosplay event, every singapore event is just blargh.
Talking about that, please also refer to Reiko's entry :[link] about cosplay photography etiquette which I feel should be highlighted strongly to Singapore's cosplay community and future cosplay event organisers.

Wooo Streetfest is finally over!
I did Setsugetsuka with as Gakupo and as Kyte!
Was on the verge of giving up SF so I had more time for WCS but I rushed the costume out in 3 days anyway =_=;
Managed to finish the costume 6am in the morning, and kinda overslept so I was only at the event around 2pm.

It was surprisingly cooling on Sunday but 2 skirts + pannier = not Singapore weather friendly.
Apologies to all if I looked like I was going to kill people, minimal sleep, suffocating obi and layers of skirts and cloth makes Mitsuki a frustrated Len LOL

Half contemplating to bring my guitar to the event, but thank god I didn't with the amount of people at the event, I couldn't risk damaging mai preciouszzz <8D
Spent the day doing nothing but A.N.JELL and FTisland crack jokes and purikuras LOL.

I felt I didn't do a good job at SF because of all the rush, but I'm happy that the costume looked somewhat passable PFFFT.

Now that SF is over, I have to start rushing my costumes for CF and WCS =_=;
So many things to do and so little time T_T

On a non-cosplay note.
I has gotten addicted to the Kdrama You're Beautiful and has been fangirling the 3 main guys. I especially love Hwang Tae Kyung/ Jang Guen Suk <3 HAHAHAHAHA.
And I also got addicted to C.NBlue and FTIsland which are Shinwoo/YongHwa's and Jeremy/Honggi's IRL bands.

Okay! So I'm back from my WCS Korea trip.
It was a very exhausting yet fun 4 days!
Firstly, Thanks to all the guys that came down on the first day to send us off at the airport! >_<

I'm really lazy to upload pictures, so you can check most of it out when I upload them on facebook! My facebook acc has the same email as on my profile page ;D

Day 1
We reached the Incheon Airport around 6am Korean time. 5 hours plus on the plane with little sleep I was almost like @_@ when I reached the place.
We waited at the airport for a few hours for the organizers and Fay to arrive so we could get going!

So the first stop was some fabric market in Dongdaemon street.
Damn that place was like....fabric heaven! Me and were cursing all the way at the amount of crazy laces they had!
The textiles they sold was like everything you could find in chinatown + Arab Street + Textile center x 1000. I'm srs!
After that it was lunch and SHOPPING!!
Best part of the day really, I practically threw everything interesting looking in Etude House into my small basket
After that we went to another airport to pick up the Japanese cosers and off to Everland!
The first night was in a cabin and we all slept on the floor which was heated, maybe abit overheated =_=;

Day 2
Rose Garden Photoshoot was the plan, so I happily brought my Pandora Hearts costume!
And it rained.
YES IT RAINED.
Imagine me trying to walk around in heels with a crazy floor length train, endless hair and fake roses around me IN THE RAIN.
щ(益щ)

I only wore that costume for 1 hour and I had to change out. Really. 8D
Then we went to Everland to walk around~
That awesome place has like victorian structures and european villages around and my fingers were all going wiggly I WANT TO SHOOT HERE.
They even have a mini zoo inside complete with white tigers and polar bears.
Then it was rehearsal time at 8pm and we all went to the Grand kickassawesome Stage.
There was also the Korea ACM rounds, and I was very impressed by the performance of the sheryl cosplayer! If she comes to Singapore to perform, please look out for her performance!
Rehearsal ended around 12AM and we had to go back to finish up our costumes and practise more!
I met a coser, Taketori-san who's a nico utaite and she knows Gero IRL, and Cubie had to go tell her my intention of being Dasoku's bride. She laughed. KTHXBAI I'm so embarrassed now I think I'm going to hide in a hole.


Day 3
WCS day! We apparently had a photoshoot in the morning, but of course it was raining AGAIN, so it was cancelled then everything just happened in a zoom and we were backstage waiting to perform.
Alot of shit happened in my performance so I don't have much confidence of going into the next round
Lighting screwed up even after I gave them specific timings.
Both of us were very not used to the stage and alot of timing problems happened.
They decided to stick the glass to the table and Cubie had problems taking it off.
That said, I did my best and fingers crossed till Starfest
We also watched the performances of Akira and Shiguma's Naruto, damn cute performance!
Yuri and Rie's Magnet was like HOT PLZ SEXY HIPS DON'T LIE LAWL.
After that we all headed for Yakiniku after party and stuffed our faces full of food
I SNAGGED 3 OF YURI AND RIE'S SENGOKU BASARA CARDS BECAUSE THEY WERE SO AWESOMELY AWESOME *W*
She was so nice to give me all 3 ;A;

Then we headed back to the hostels but the night wasn't over yet!
DRINKING PARTY FTW! The organisers held a after drinking party where we watched our performances, mingled around and had fun!
Got to talk to alot of cosplayers this time, and was really a great experience hearing their stories!

The Japanese and Korean cosers actually printed their photos out to share with us. I was very impressed with their collection esp Akira and Shiguma's Code Geass photobook.

Spent the remaining night talking to Fay about her cosplays with Peggy until 5am!
While the rest of the guys slept we were actually playing with Peggy's Usavich plushies and trying very hard to not laugh loudly while doing retarded things to the plushies

Day 4
We said our goodbyes very very sadly. ;A;
I WISH WE COULD HAVE STAYED LONGER ;A;

Thoughts:
I learnt alot of the cosers I met during the trip, they're dedication is really immeasurable and it made me strengthen my decision to strive harder to become a better cosplayer.
I'm really greatly inspired by them >_<

Hella Dramu happened on the trip, concerning well cosplayer dramu.
I dislike it when I see people bootlickingflirting Japanese/Korean cosers just because they're famous.
Learn to accept negative comments and don't hold your nose too high up just because you receive some praises from people around you.
Maybe you think you look like a certain coser so you try to copy his style and make it your own?
Well, alot of us see thru it and are laughing because it looks so blatantly ripped off in a really ugly way
Looks can get you a certain amount of fame but having a good personality is the basis of being a good cosplayer to me.
Well, It's just my 2 cents from what I noticed during the trip ;D

I intend to print my own photos as a personal collection as well, because I'm really inspired by the Japanese and Korean cosers passion to share their cosplays. and I'm shameless because I like to see pretty photos in print

I used to really hate sewing. Like UTTER DETEST. I think I swore I will never sew before.
But now, my sewing machine is like my husband.

What was your favourite cosplay experience?
Hmm, well to me every event/shoot is a 'favourite' day of the year/month/week, it's the only time I get to totally indulge in something I love and forget about any school/work. The excitement before and during the event is something really unforgettable.

What is your worst cosplay experience?
I guess cosplay at Harumi. It wasn't the event, but our super unplanned and last min rushing. Our Magnet headphones were done at 11am in the morning, it look about 1 and 1/2 hours to get to harumi, 6 degrees crazy wind blowing your wigs and skirt all over the place, and 3 hours of daylight to shoot 2 series and yeah a missing fake nail. PFFFT.

When and where did you first learn of cosplay?
I was looking for anime to watch actually, then I stumbled upon cosplay pictures on the internet. Wikipedia then cosplay.com and Sgcafe.

What did you think of it then?
Hmm, as a 15 year old girl I remember it was something along the lines of "OMG SO COOL WTF I WANT TO DO IT TOO."
Right, and that was 5 years ago.

What do you think of it now?
As I grew older and got more seriously involved in cosplay, It's not just pose-smile-get photo anymore. There's a lot more work behind it and sometimes it gets so tiring.
But I still don't regret my decision of falling into this pit against all odds!

Where do you usually cosplay?
Hmm, Recurring cons are Cosfest, I think this year is my 5th cosfest. (06 I went in some random loli PFFFT)

Have you ever done a cosplay skit on stage?
Yup.

Have you ever won a prize for said skit?
Well, if you count going to Korea, yes. <8D

Do you plan your cosplay outfits waaay before you're meant to wear them?
I still have my first few cosplay plans when I was a 15 year old in progress, so yes.
But there are always times when the event is 3 weeks away and we just choose something easier to cosplay, but it turns out to be so much more difficult to do. HAHA

Have you ever been to a convention and cosplayed?
Yup~

Ever have something terrible happen to your outfit?
I must emo at this question.
I once, accidentally overheated my iron, and as a n00b went to directly iron it onto my costume.
Result: A big ugly burnt patch and no costume for the convention.
The costume still sits in my wardrobe because I feel sad throwing it away.
It was my Shugo Chara Amulet Angel costume. -cries-

What is the best thing about cosplay?
From choosing the character, getting all the wigs, materials and going to the event, having fun and getting pictures!

What is the worst thing about cosplay?
Oh the drama about the never ending unneccessary self-conducted comparisons.

Why do you cosplay?
Because I'm a dellusional otome who would like to one day find a way to transport myself into the 2D world.

I cosplay a character because I really love that character.

I really want to create images that express the feeling of the series and I try my very best to make sure I can portray the emotion that character has.

Until then I should be trying to finish up all my past cosplay shoots (I have like at least 5 pending costumes already 80% done) and plans for this year and yes, WCS ORZ

OMG ITS OVER FOR NOW AND WE'RE GOING TO KOREAAAAAAAAA!!!
It's been a crazy three weeks since me and decided to join WCS first round.
I can't deny that 80% of the motivation was that 6 teams get to go to Korea LOL.

Lotsa omgwtfbbqs happened during the process of choosing characters, ordering wigs, getting materials and most wtf of all both of us fell seriously sick (till was hospitalized) a week before the competition.

We almost dropped out because of time constraint but I'm really glad we stayed in and rushed out our costumes and skit. /

Cantarella was one of the first vocaloid songs that got me into the pithole of vocaloid cosplay plans and I didn't really expect myself to use it as a WCS performance.
The costume is actually my 2nd completed DIY costume, the basic shape of the dress was done following my magnet dress pattern
Laces were a killer, we spent so much time trying to choose the appropriate patterns and shapes FFFFFFFFFFF

Overall, the dress is still very ghettoly done and I have to do some more editing (esp adding lining into the ugly sleeves) before we shoot it. <8D

Lastly, I need to thank for lending me the wig because the wig I already ordered couldn't come on time (WHY FANTASY SHEEP WHY) and for enduring all my OMG THESE RUFFLES AREN'T ENDINGGGGG rants on msn and helping out yesterday!

Since there doesn't seem to be much events up for the next few months, I'll be concentrating on school work @_@ and finishing up the costumes that I planned to shoot.

I have alot of costumes from older series that I did before that I still want to reshoot because I felt I still haven't done a good enough job, on a personal level. x_x

The next big events should be Streefest and Cosfest I guess?
I have nothing to do for one day of cosfest, LOL.

Cosplaying there was first time for me, it was a fun experience and so different from Singapore's culture. We went to 3 events in total, one at a Mansion at Saitama, TFT for Tonacos and Harumi.

Saitama - Pandora Hearts + Kuroshitsuji
TFT - Nyotalia
Harumi - Macross Frontier + White Manget

I think the most shocking part for us all, was that there was no such things as changing/ putting on makeup in toilets that we're so used to in Singapore.
At all the bigger events (Tonacos, Harumi) you had to pay at the reception first then you'll be given this enterance pass, then move to the changing room which was actually just this HUGE open space where everyone just strips and changes into their costumes.

You can't do your makeup there btw. LOL. Yes, you have to pack up everything, then move to the makeup space. No, there are no mirrors. It's just ANOTHER HUGE open space. So you'll see all the cosplayers with portable mirrors propped on their luggages, sitting on the floor doing their makeup. 8D
Luckily we had a brief idea of the way things go so we all went to get our mirrors from Daiso beforehand.

Then after you're done, you can choose to bring your luggage out to the event space, or store it at the luggage space area they have.

It may sound like something troublesome but it's actually rather systematic and I think is a good thing that maybe could be adapted in Singapore (I see so many cosplayers giving me wtf faces).
At least we won't be snatching toilets with the public, and that would give the event organizers one less thing to worry about. 8D

So at TFT, I spotted most of the famous cosplayers. Hibiki + Saya were doing Cantarella, Kanda Midori was doing To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (ONEEESAMMMAAA), Kousaka Yun, Kaze Jun (MICHEALLLLL), and a few more I faved on CURE.
Well, generally there were the old men in tights too. ._.

And I proudly say I stood in a corset and mini skirt at probably 6 degrees at Harumi with all the ocean wind blowing at me!

Anyway it was a fun experience and I so want to go back again! (End of the year anyone YES/YES)

HOMG THE CROWD. - First thought when I walked out of the toilet to the event area.
LOL.
I only walked a bit around the inside event area, and caught like 1 of the team competition.

AFA Day 1 I did Alice from Pandora Hearts, the chapter 28 page spread ver.
I was a walking flower garden on that day. The costume was like HEAVY, and I had to keep pulling the train around so that people wouldn't step on it.

We were quite lala on day 2, but mostly because everyone on the team was like shagged from all the overnight stay finishing the costume.

Anisong concert was awesome sauce.
After changing out, I was already so damn tired, I could fall asleep standing up. But I managed to last through Fukuyama Yoshiki and May'n's concert.
It was, EPIC!
I managed to win the lucky draw for Fukuyama Yoshiki's CD, and I was shaking like mad when I went to get the autograph on stage.
HOMG his voice is so damn epic, I really hope he can bring his band next year.
and MAY'N <3 awesome. UNIVERSAL BUNNY WAS LIKE -KEYSMASH- AMAZING.

And now to start studying for JLPT 2 , and rush costumes for Japan.

School is ending in 2 weeks time, thank god I don't have THAT much assignments as I thought I would have.
I've recently been surprisingly hardworking (Pui) and sew my costume every night after school/work!
On a randomn rant note: I WANT AN SERGER MACHINE, I CAN'T STAND ALL THE FRAYING BITSY ENDS ANYMORE T_T

I've been pulling my hair out fustrating over the Japan trip. Everything is set except for the fact that NONE of us have connections over at the cosplay community there.
That makes it so oh my god difficult to find a starting point when we need to go for the loke events.

Cosplays are already set. Locations were shortlisted, but -facepalm-.

And my horrible self-studied japanese will not produce a grammatically correct email to the organisers.

I felt as if I haven't cosplayed at an event for super long after I missed Toycon.
I missed Day 1 due to work but I went for Day 2 as Ciel's Smile ver with Kyubei as Sebastian. o/

Spent the day trying to see straight with one eye blind and the other blur since my degree is like enough to make me blur but not yet a full degree and there's no contact lens degree for that =_=;

AFA will be in 2 months! So super excited for that event!

We met Xiaobai,Ferlyn and Uguu-san for a short shoot at school!

First time working with a japanese photographer, I was kinda anxious whether my japanese got through. D8;
It was really interesting hearing how their shoots were done differently over there, since we're looking for locations and photogs to shoot when we're in japan this dec.
